AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Auckland City FC U-23 graduate Kristoff Muller's first taste of Chatham Cup football with the senior team has left the attacking midfielder hungry for more.

Muller became the fifth U-23 player to feature in first team action this season when he came on as a substitute for Adam Thurston on the hour mark of the 7-0 win over Ellerslie AFC.

With Matt Ellis, Ilham Hameedi, Brooklyn Heath and Addison Stewart all enjoying a taste of senior football, Muller feels his transition was made smoother.

"It was a great experience and I feel like I learned a lot. It's such a big step up from the U-23 environment but I hope I can get more games in the future.

"Playing alongside the other players who have made the breakthrough has been good. They've been the poster for what we want to achieve and where we want to be and its been an inspiration in a way.

"But playing next to the others week to week eased the pressure a lot against Ellerslie," he said.

Muller entered the match with City already 4-0 up which he described as an ideal scenario.

"The game had opened up a bit and that gave me more space to run into and make runs in behind and pick passes and that eased the pressure.

"I had one great opportunity to score and I regret taking a touch on the outside but that's football and there's nothing I can do about it now.

"I've loved a taste of first team action and it was nerve wracking because you naturally want to do well but ultimately it was an enjoyable debut, I want to play again and hopefully will in the future," he said.
