Vale - Margaret Egan

AUCKLAND, New Zealand – Auckland City FC is today extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Arthur Egan’s wife, Margaret Egan, aged 83.

Arthur joined Auckland City FC for the club’s inaugural season in the New Zealand Football Championship for the 2004-05 campaign straight from Central United FC.

A statement from the Egan family: Our beautiful Margaret, Mum and Nana passed away this morning (1st May) at 7.40am. We spent the past 48 hours by her side, and created many memories to be cherished.

We are so very sad but are filled with peace knowing that she is with our Lord and can now once again think, sing, talk and walk, do all those things that vicious disease robbed her of.

Dad understandably is heartbroken, but know without a doubt that his undeniable strength of character and steadfast faith will bring him through this journey he is to walk.

You as his friends play a big part in that, so please know that he will appreciate your contact whether it be a comment, phone call or visit.

A celebration of Margaret’s life, will be Monday 6th May, 1pm at St Columba Presbyterian Church, Botany.
