AUCKLAND, New Zealand – Auckland City FC x NRF kicked off their 2025 Ford Futsal Super League campaign with a double header against Hawke’s Bay Futsal, securing four points after two physically demanding encounters at Kohimarama’s Barfoot and Thompson Stadium.

First Match: Auckland City FC 6-1 Hawke’s Bay Futsal

The early stages of the first half saw ill-discipline from the Futsal Navy Blues, who conceded their five allowable fouls within the first five minutes. This led to a penalty for Hawke’s Bay, converted by Liam Schofield after Stephen Hoyle was fouled, giving the visitors an unexpected 1-0 lead at the half-time break.

Auckland City FC's second half was a remarkable turnaround. Dylan Manickum equalised four minutes into the second half, followed by a goal from Sam Twigg, putting the Futsal Navy Blues in the lead. Oban Hawkins added another, making it 3-1 with a well-executed team goal. Adam Bolland and Samuel Fagan extended the lead, and Hawkins sealed the victory from the 10-metre penalty spot, concluding a dominant second half display with a 6-1 win.

Second Match: Auckland City FC 2-2 Hawke’s Bay Futsal

In their second match of the day, the Futsal Navy Blues started strongly, with Alex Roberts scoring within the first 8 seconds. However, Hawke’s Bay equalised 10 minutes later through Joshua Bowie, and Sam Lack's goal put them ahead before the half-time break.

The second half was filled with frustration for Auckland City FC, as numerous chances were thwarted by the Hawke’s Bay defence and their goalkeeper, Liam Percy-Fysh. It was Dylan Manickum who eventually scored, ensuring both teams shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw.
