National League Championship draw confirmed
AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Auckland City FC will kick off their 2023 National League Championship title defence in the New Zealand capital against the Wellington Phoenix Reserves on Saturday, 23 September.
The Navy Blues will host five home games with Northern League rivals Auckland United and first-time qualifiers Manurewa AFC, Central League champions Wellington Olympic as well as Southern League title winners Christchurch United and runners-up Cashmere Technical all set to visit Kiwitea Street during the nine qualifying rounds of the competition.
Apart from the opening round visit to Wellington, the reigning champions will face away trips to National League debutant Petone FC, Central League qualifiers Napier City Rovers and to Madills Farm for the third Gridlock Derby of the season against Eastern Suburbs who finished in second place in the Northern League four points behind City.
