Futsal Navy Blues take aim at National Series 2
AUCKLAND, New Zealand - The Futsal Navy Blues are off to Wellington for the second SuperLeague National Series as they chase the national title they won in 2020.
Currently top of the table after ten rounds, Nic Downes’ team has won eight, drawn one and lost one and are neck-and-neck for top spot with the impressive Capital Futsal side.
The action gets underway on Saturday when Auckland City FC take on Southern United at the Akau Tangi Sports Centre in the capital at 11:00am NZST. The Futsal Navy Blues complete their round robin programme with a game against familiar foes Capital Futsal at 7.00pm NZST.
With Auckland City and Capital both secured places in the semi finals, the final two league games will determine which side of the playoffs the teams will be on and who they will face on Sunday.
Competition is tight for the remaining two semi final spots with Southern United, Canterbury United and Waikato Rapids all in the hunt for a top four finish. Semi finals are at 10:00am and the final 2:00pm NZST.
All matches are streamed live from Wellington via New Zealand Football’s YouTube channel and will be made available courtesy of the usual Auckland City FC social media channels and official website.
