Navy Blues partner with Men's Lucia Clinic

AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Auckland City FC is pleased to announce a partnership with MLC Men's Lucia Clinic.

MLC Men's Lucia Clinic offers specialist cosmetic services to its clientele with a strong presence throughout Japan.

MLC were scheduled to come on board as Auckland City FC's front of shirt sponsor for the National League Championship until the Covid-19 outbreak forced New Zealand Football to cancel the competition.

Club chairperson Ivan Vuksich said the partnership with MLC was vital for both parties during a period of uncertainty and volatility due to the global pandemic.

"We sealed MLC's involvement with Auckland City FC back in August but with New Zealand going into lockdown and question marks over the National League Championship because of the pandemic we were forced into delaying an announcement.

"The name Lucia comes from the word luce, meaning “light, shine, clear, bright, full of lightness", so this is the appropriate moment to illuminate our front of shirt sponsors to our supporters.

"We've built up a strong relationship with Japan football over the past 15 years having played five Club World Cups there and faced the national men's team in a friendly in 2015.

"We've also had a former Japan international play for us in Teruo Iwamoto and Takuya Iwata is one of our most decorated players, appearing for the club over 130 times.

"Our club holds broad appeal in that part of the world and its not the first time we've attracted interest from Japanese businesses seeking to further their brand abroad," he said.
