AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Auckland City FC can confirm that Head Coach Paul Posa will not travel with the team for the initial stage of the FIFA Club World Cup USA™ 2025 campaign.

Paul will remain in New Zealand during the first two weeks of June due to personal circumstances. The club fully supports this decision and asks that his privacy be respected during this time.
In Paul’s temporary absence, the coaching group will be jointly led by Adria Casals, Ivan Vicelich, Daewook Kim, and Jonas Hoffmann, ensuring continuity of planning and performance delivery across all areas. The club is confident in the leadership, tactical acumen, and experience this group brings.
We are also pleased to confirm that Technical Analyst, Malte Thesenvitz, will join the FCWC25 coaching staff, providing strategic support throughout the tournament.
Auckland City FC remains fully focused on representing New Zealand and Oceania with pride on the global stage. Further updates regarding the team’s progress and preparations will be shared in due course.
