City Honour Skipper With A Five-Star Performance

City controlled the tempo from the outset, dominating possession and carving out chances, but had to wait until the 28th minute to break through. New Czech signing Pavel Osmančík, on debut, rose to meet a pinpoint Jeremy Foo cross from the right, heading home his maiden goal for the club.

Despite City’s control, Manukau threatened on the counter. Russell Currie’s pace caused problems, and the hosts came close to equalising when he released Mohammed Faheem through on goal — only for City keeper Matt Foord to stand tall in the one‑on‑one.

The Navy Blues emerged from the break with intent, and Osmančík doubled both his tally and City’s advantage just minutes after the restart, reacting quickest to a parried Ryan Watson effort and finishing from close range. Watson then claimed his first goal for the club, before Osmančík completed a dream debut with a stylish hat‑trick on 72 minutes.

There was still time for Angus Kilkolly to add a fifth late on, rounding off a statement performance on a landmark night for the skipper.

Earlier in the afternoon, the club’s U23s secured back‑to‑back victories with a composed 1–0 win over Manukau United U23. Kaio Martinez produced the decisive moment with a brilliant long‑range strike after a tight, scoreless first half.
