Bay Olympic Looms in Must-Win Clash

After a narrow 2-1 stumble to Tauranga City, Auckland City FC return to the Northern League fray with steely eyes and urgent ambition as they square off against Bay Olympic FC in Round 17.

Currently perched seventh on the ladder but armed with games in hand, Paul Posa’s side are within striking distance of National League qualification. 

Two points shy of the top four with a congested seven-team scramble for one of the four qualifying places unfolding, Auckland City are more predator than prey, and they’ll need that killer instinct.

Bay Olympic, meanwhile, sit eighth and trail by six points, having played two more matches than their visitors. Saturday’s encounter is no longer just about local pride, it’s about survival in the upper echelons.

The Navy Blues are no strangers to dominance in this fixture, winning 10 of the last 11 meetings between the sides.
