AUCKLAND, New Zealand – Auckland City FC will once again pause to reflect on ANZAC Day, paying tribute to those who gave their lives in service of their country.

Club chairman Ivan Vuksich says the Navy Blues take pride in marking both ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day each year.
“This is a meaningful moment for all of us, especially in uncertain times. ANZAC Day allows us to express our gratitude to the generations who served, sacrificed, and helped shape the world we live in.
“As a club, we’ve always acknowledged these occasions — through a moment of silence at the home match closest to ANZAC or Remembrance Day, through our matchday programme, and by attending services across New Zealand and the Pacific.
“We will never forget. We hope our members, staff, players, volunteers, partners, sponsors, the football community and our country all take time to remember those who served.”
Auckland City FC will also hold a commemoration at Kiwitea Street this Saturday, when the Navy Blues host Fencibles United in their Round 7 Northern League fixture.
The New Zealand Government and the Returned Services Association are encouraging New Zealanders to take part in the Stand at Dawn observance from 6am on Saturday.
