ACFC & NRF Reunite for Youth Futsal Campaign

Held annually in Wellington, this year’s tournament runs from 15–18 December, bringing together top youth talent from across the country. Since 2021, Auckland City and NRF have collaborated to field competitive teams, with last year’s campaign producing two championship wins and one runner-up finish. The 2025 program will feature U15 and U17 girls and boys teams, led by Futsal White Dylan Manickum and Futsal Ferns Head Coach Nic Downes.

“We’ve built a quality program over the past four years and continue to use the learnings gained from each campaign to improve the experience off-court and the performances on-court,” said Nic Downes.

“NRF’s continued support allows us to deliver elite futsal coaching to the region. Last year was a particular highlight with two winners and one runner up across the four grades we entered, as well as a number of individual awards.”

Trials will be held in early September, followed by a 10-week training block leading into the December tournament.  Technical training is also available from now until the end of the year on Friday evenings.

“Our focus is on developing technical and tactical futsal skills,” said Dylan Manickum. “How players interact on the court is central to our program, and it showed in last year’s results. We are also now consistently seeing players making the next step from youth in to both the womens and mens Super League.”
