Stipe was appointed to his current role with Auckland City's first team squad part way through last season, combining this successfully with his position as co-coach of the Academy side. Prior to last seasons success, which saw the club claim a unique 'treble' (NZFC, O-League & National Youth League titles), Stipe has been heavily involved in youth development, primarily with Central United FC, Auckland City's main feeder club. He has successfully led youth teams to qualify for the World Finals of the Adidas Challenge (Germany 2006) and the Manchester United Premier Cup (Manchester 2007 & 2008).
