Most Memorable Match Played In

For NK Slaven Belupo against Aris Thessaloniki FC (Greece) in a UEFA Cup second round qualifying match on 28 August 2008. We played this second leg match at home at the Gradski Stadion in Koprivnica and won 2-0 to qualify for the first round proper of the competition where we met CSKA Moscow (Russia) and were subsequently defeated 1-3 on aggregate over two legs.

Janica Kostelic, the famous Croatian alpine ski racer. She is the only woman to win four gold medals in alpine skiing at the Winter Olympics (in 2002 and 2006), and the only woman to win three alpine skiing gold medals in one Olympics (2002).


 

Best Goal Scored

For NK Slaven Belupo against HNK Hajduk Split in a penalty shoot-out in the quarter-finals of the Croatian Cup on 26 November 2008. We played this second leg match at home at the Gradski Stadion in Koprivnica and the tie was level at 0-0 after two legs and extra time. We eventually lost a heart breaking penalty shoot-out 6-7. Hajduk went on to make the final where they also lost on penalties 3-4 to GNK Dinamo Zagreb after the aggregate score over two legs was level at 3-3.
