PLAYER PROFILE - Marko DORDEVIC

A former professional player in his native Serbia, Dordevic first came to prominence in Oceania football when he signed for Vanuatu champions Amicale in 2014.

A steady centreback, comfortable on the ball and deadly in the air, Dordevic won the Port Vila Championship with the Red Roosters under the watchful eye of Australian coach Nathan Hall.

Hall, who signed Dordevic alongside two other Serbian players that same season, masterminded Amicale's drive to the OFC Champions League final that same campaign off the back of a 1-0 win over the Navy Blues in Lautoka.

Dordevic's outstanding performances caught the eye of Navy Blues coach Ramon Tribulietx who signed him for the following campaign.

His consistent performances, selfless work ethic and easy-going sense of humour made Dordevic a key figure at the FIFA Club World Cup Morocco 2014 where the Navy Blues won bronze in a tense penalty shoot-out the Serb was forced to watch from the sidelines after a minor calf strain.

However, Dordevic would play a significant part in back-to-back ASB Premiership and OFC Champions League title wins and is still very much a part of the squad for the 2016-17 Stirling Sports Premiership push.

The 32-year-old rates Aleksandar Kolakov as the best player he's played against and the club he follows, without hesitation, is FC Barcelona.
