PLAYER PROFILE - Clayton LEWIS
One of New Zealand's rising stars, Clayton Lewis signed for the Navy Blues at the start of last season. After a settling in period, Lewis emerged as a key figure in the club's push for six OFC Champions League titles in a row scoring in a memorable final win over fellow Kiwis Team Wellington.
After a spell on the sidelines in recent times, Lewis is now firmly back in the international frame with the All Whites after missing out on their triumph in Papua New Guinea at the OFC Nations Cup.
Now with a FIFA Confederations Cup to look forward too, Lewis' prospects look bright indeed.
Capped by New Zealand at U-17 and U-20 level, Lewis skippered the latter to the OFC U-20 Championship in Vanuatu.
Lewis and his father Barry became the first New Zealand father-son duo to play at the same OFC Champions League competition last season when Lewis senior skippered Kiwi FC of Samoa.
Highly rated by national team coach Anthony Hudson, Lewis played in both recent friendly internationals for the All Whites against Mexico and the USA.
