PLAYER PROFILE - Sam BROTHERTON
The All Whites defender signed for Auckland City FC last season as the club won its first ever Northern League title but bigger things are expected of a player whom has plenty to offer.
Capped at U-23 and U-20 level for New Zealand, Brotherton made a big impact in the USA system and had a brief spell in England with Sunderland and Blyth Spartans.
Like so many other Navy Blues players these days, Brotherton is a committed Liverpool fan and lists Virgil Van Dijk as his favourite red, reflecting the tastes of team-mate Christian Gray.
Has adapted to life under new coach Albert Riera effortlessly with three goals to his name in just 12 appearances so far in 2022.
