Glitzy Awards Dinner Marks Historic Season
The Auckland City FC Annual Awards evening was held last Saturday 8th of May at the "The Tasman Room", Alexandra Park, Greenlane.
A tremendous evening and wonderful dinner was enjoyed by the more than 250 guests that gathered to acknowledge the individual and team achievements of our players over the course of the 2009/10 season.
Several video presentations were shown throughout the evening of the clubs exploits at the FIFA Club World Cup where they achieved a 5th place finish. City defeated the Champion club sides from U.A.E. and Africa to register the greatest results ever achieved by a club side from New Zealand.
The club also celebrated finishing the season top of the league to take out the minor championship and should also be very proud of a season that saw them just miss out reaching the final of the ‘O’ League on goal difference, finishing the campaign unbeaten. In fact Auckland City lost only three games all season including one against the CONCACAF Champions Atalante FC of Mexico.
