Academy gets own website

AUCKLAND, New Zealand - The Auckland City FC Academy programme took another step forward with the release of it's own dedicated section on the club website.

The Auckland City FC Academy has had a busy few weeks with the announcement of it's latest programme at Kelston Boys' High School and the appointment of new Academy Director, Nic Downes.

Now with the club moving into a new phase of connecting with the Auckland football community, the launch of a dedicated website to match the programme's social media footprint is viewed as the next step toward delivering it's four pillar philosophy of fun, learn, develop and play.

Former All Whites and Navy Blues legend Ivan Vicelich was delighted with recent developments and says Auckland City FC Academy is ready for it's next evolution.

"We've had a busy year but can't rest on what we've achieved - we're looking to grow our numbers, attract newcomers and demonstrate a holistic programme that is fun, educational, encourages growth and enjoyment with football as the vehicle.

"Bringing Nic Downes in as the Academy Director is another boost for us given his experience in coach education and working with players at grassroots level.

"Now we have a strong website and social media presence and a very attractive and cost effective product for parents who want to see value for money," he said.

The new Auckland City FC Academy website URL is hosted at www.academy.football and will feature on all future club messaging about the Academy programme.

The next Auckland City FC Academy programme is scheduled for May 6 to July 5, 2019, with Kelston Boys High School students priced at $100.00 and other students $150.00."
