AUCKLAND, New Zealand - For the first time in four seasons, professional football returns to Auckland’s Eden Park.

New Zealand’s only professional football team, the Wellington Phoenix, takes on Australia’s best in the form of Melbourne Victory on Friday 15 February, 2019 at 7.35pm.

Two days later, Auckland City FC take on Hamilton Wanderers at Kiwitea Street as the race for the ISPS Handa Premiership title goes down to the wire.

Wellington's star players include former Navy Blues and Fiji international striker Roy Krishna, ex-Premier League defender Steven Taylor and rising All White Sapreet Singh will be looking to take it to Melbourne and their star studded line up which includes Keisuke Honda.

An 80 game veteran for AC Milan, playing over 90 times for Japan including three FIFA World Cups as well as being named the best player of the 2011 Asian Cup, Honda is widely regarded as one of Asia’s best players for much of the last decade.

The Phoenix will need to be at their best to overcome the Melbourne heavyweights, but the last time Phoenix and Victory met in Auckland, Wellington walked away with all three points in a 2-0 win.

So come on Auckland, the Phoenix need our support – let’s get out and support them!
