AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Jordan Vale is a versatile midfielder, who spent his 2018 winter season playing in the Lotto NRFL Men’s Premier Division for Onehunga Sports.

A former New Zealand age group representative, Vale was a key member of the Sports midfield and helped guide the team in green into claiming back-to-back championships in the Lotto NRFL Men’s Premier Division.

Here are five facts to know about Auckland City FC midfielder, Jordan Vale

Football began at Lynn-Avon United for Vale

From the age of three, Vale began playing football for Lynn-Avon United AFC, but in an U6 team. The Midfielder was easily shown the ropes by his parents, who both had been playing football, with his mother Yvonne representing New Zealand as a goal keeper and his father playing George playing top level in Auckland.

Vale has two favourite footballing memories

For every young footballer, it’s always a dream to play on the International stage and for Vale, he’s done that numerous times. It all started as a youngster for Vale, where he took part in the Danone Nationals Cup in France, playing against countries from around the world. Vale also got to see Zidane up close. Also, one to add to the memory books is Vales goal at the 2011 U17 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. New Zealand made it past the group stage, with Vale finding the back of the net in New Zealand’s 4-1 victory over Uzbekistan.

Vale spent time in the USA after high school

After making a name for himself on the World Stage, Vale picked up a Scholarship at University of California, Los Angeles. The midfielder spent four years studying a BA in History and also playing the institution’s Soccer (Football) team.

Diverse Cultural Heritage Present within the Vales

Born in New Zealand, Vale has a diverse cultural background, with his mother’s side of the family residing from the Netherlands. Vale’s father was born in Taiwan to a Chinese/Japanese mother and an English father. Vale moved to New Zealand when he was young. The Navy Blues man has dual citizenship with both New Zealand and the Netherlands.


Vale’s 10th Birthday Present


For his 10th Birthday, Vale did the Tandem SkyDive, which ranged to at least 11,000 feet from the sky. Not everyone can say they did the Tandem SkyDive as a 10-Year-Old.
