AUCKLAND, New Zealand - New signing Jordan Vale says the Navy Blues unity is driving them on after defeating Tasman United on Sunday.

The unfortunate Vale put an own goal past team-mate and goalkeeper Enaut Zubikarai but delivered yet another hardworking performance as Auckland City FC made it two wins from two in the ISPS Handa Premiership.

Vale, who turned out for Eastern Suburbs AFC last season, put the setback behind him and instead focused on the obstacles he and his Navy Blues team-mates have overcome in a short space of time.

"We played quite well against a Tasman United side that we didn't know too much about.

"We knew we had to be focused and wary of what they might be about for the first five or ten minutes then see if we could change the game to adapt to that.

"I had a back spasm that meant I missed the friendly game with Waitakere United but luckily I was able to get myself back just in time for the win over Team Wellington last week.

"I think we're doing alright but we've picked up a few injuries along the way with Browney but we're becoming more cohesive and the feeling in our group is that we're in this together.

"We've got a rest day tomorrow and return to training on Tuesday then all the focus will be on preparing for Southern United next Sunday," Vale told www.aucklandcityfc.com

Auckland City FC faces Southern United at the Caledonian Ground in Dunedin next Sunday at 2pm NZST.
