WANDERERS COACH RICKI HERBERT:
Ricki Herbert (Waikato Times): "From what I've seen in a short period of time, there's some good young talent coming out of a range of clubs, and I'm keen to foster that and have those players as part of the summer programme, whether it's in the youth league [which Wanderers won in 2016] or being attached to the main senior team.
"It's important in the Waikato and in the broader region - Rotorua, Tauranga, those sorts of areas - that people can see a pathway."
SIGNING PAPUA NEW GUINEA INTERNATIONAL PATRICK AISA:
"He's an attacking-type player - he can play wide, he can play in behind a striker. He's a new face, something different, and I'm delighted that he's keen to come to the club and hook up that player-coach relationship that we had."
"It's time to put a benchmark down and start to build for the future. We're certainly in no hurry to get names across the line. We're going to look far and wide, and just look for who's around - players who want to come, and who are committed, and who want to do things well."

Auckland City FC coach Ramon Tribulietx has a clutch of new players following a busy off-season recruitment drive that sees Kris Bright, Liam Graham and Dan Morgan all sign for the Navy Blues. Four youngsters are also handed a chance with the OFC Champions League title holders with Dalton Wilkins, Owen Parker-Price, Callum McCowatt and goalkeeper Conor Tracey all drafted in.
Auckland City FC and Hamilton Wanderers met for the first time in New Zealand's domestic top flight last season with the Navy Blues easily winning both matches.
In the first match at Porritt Stadium, Emiliano Tade and Joao Moreira both scored two each with the fifth added by Ryan De Vries in a 5-0 win on February 19.
It was a similar story in the return match three days later with Clayton Lewis bagging two with Tade and Fabrizio Tavano completing the rout. Stafford Dowling netted a consolation for Wanderers as they went down 4-1.
