Following the transfer window we talk to new signing, Cam Howieson to get the lowdown on where he has been, where he is at now and what the future holds for him.

The 21-year-old arrived at Kiwitea Street after the festive break from defending champions Team Wellington and has quickly settled into life with the Navy Blues.

A former professional with Burnley in England and St.Mirren in Scotland, Howieson is a key addition to the squad at a time when ranks have thinned in midfield following injury to Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi.

Coach Ramon Tribulietx was delighted to see Howieson make the switch from Team Wellington and believes Auckland City FC have acquired a quality operator.

"Cam is a very versatile player who has been playing professionally in Europe, so he has that professional mentality and attitude that we are looking for in our players.

"He is technically gifted to effectively play to our style of game and has good range of passing and physically very powerful.

"Obviously he comes into our set-up to increase the competition in midfield predominantly, although as I mentioned before he can also play further up the pitch in forward areas.

"Cam is a welcome addition to the squad especially after the unfortunate loss of Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi," Tribulietx said.

Howieson started training with the Navy Blues on January 3 but faces a stand down period before he can pull on the Auckland City FC jersey in a competitive match.
