AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Auckland City FC heads into Sunday's clash in South Auckland on the back of two gritty 2-1 victories over Tauranga City and West Coast Rangers.

The Navy Blues will aim to make it three wins on the trot as they face a Manurewa AFC side that will be playing their first match of the 2025 Dettol Northern Leagueseaosn

Manurewa will be looking to make an impression on home soil, but for Auckland City this will already be their third league fixture, with prior games rescheduled to accommodate their upcoming OFC Champions League commitments in the Solomon Islands.

The Navy Blues have shown resilience to secure victories despite challenging circumstances, including red cards and end-to-end games and their depth and character are set to be tested once again against an eager Manurewa side.

In their last outing on Tuesday night at the Croatian Club, young talent Jeremy Foo showed promise on debut, scoring a crucial equaliser against West Coast Rangers while Dylan Manickum has also been in fine form, scoring the match-winning goal in the 80th minute.

Auckland City’s defence will need to tighten after conceding in each of their last two matches and head coach Paul Posa, will be hoping for a clean sheet as his troops will be eyeing another win before departing for Honiara.

Meanwhile, Manurewa AFC’s opening performance against the reigning champions could set the tone for their entire season.

With City focused on maintaining their perfect start to the league and Manurewa AFC keen to make a strong first impression, this encounter promises another action-packed affair.
