AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Relieved. That's the word Emiliano Tade used to sum up Sunday's Stirling Sports Premiership derby win over Eastern Suburbs AFC.

And well he might. Tade saw his 71st minute sensationally saved by Lilywhites stopper Silvio Rodic only for referee Matt Conger to order a retake the Argentine subsequently netted.

"Relief is the main emotion. It was difficult physically and mentally to be up for this game but we knew we had to focus and work hard.

"I know you want me to talk about the penalty incident but I am just happy the ball went in.

"Unbelievable feeling to win this game especially after coming back from Japan. We knew it was going to be tough and we had to do our job.

"The final whistle went and the three points. It was hard work in hot conditions and a difficult pitch and it was a relief to win the match. I'm pretty tired after that," he said.

Tade's Navy Blues team-mate Clayton Lewis echoed the goalscorers sentiments expressing satisfaction with a win after an intense first half of the season.

"That was very tough. The weather played a big part it was so hot out there and its a difficult pitch to play on but we dug deep and ended up getting the result we wanted.

"Everyone as a team worked collectively very hard and we needed that win to go into the festive break close to top spot," he said.

Lewis spurned one clear opportunity to put the game beyond the Lilywhites but was philosophical about the moment.

Gaining victory, he said, was the main objective.

"I could've done better, I had a couple of chances but I'm not down about it, I'm quite happy with a winning result."
