TIANJIN, China - The Auckland City FC youth tour to China entered a new exciting phase of activity with a cultural exchange with Dajili Limited in Tianjin today.

The youth squad led by Tong Zhou participated in a technical coaching session with Teshima Sasushi, a former player and coach with Urawa Reds, with a local youth team providing a colourful cultural mix on a humid afternoon.

At the end of training players from each team shared musical performances, dances and football skills, then exchanged gifts with each other before enjoying a shared meal at the local training ground.

Tong Zhou said: “The players and parents have had a very happy experience in Tianjin. You can see the fun they are having meeting players from another culture and learning and growing in a safe, happy and positive space.

“I believe we can have future youth exchange programmes in Auckland where we can host young teams from Tianjin and also send our Auckland City FC teams back to China for more experiences like this.”

The day ended with a beautiful river boat night tour of Tianjin to capture the sights, sounds and amazing views of a vast city with a population of 15 million people.

Auckland City FC wishes to thank the city and people of Tianjin and our supporters from Dajili for hosting our tour group players, parents and staff with courtesy, hospitality and generosity.
