TETOUAN, Morocco - Auckland City FC skipper Cam Howieson has been presented with the club's tenth commemorative plaque as representatives of Oceania at the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco.

Howieson accepted the plaque from FIFA's Sergio Garcia at City's Team Base Camp in Tetouan ahead of the referee meeting with the club's players at the Tamuda Bay Sofitel.

"This is a great honour to receive the plaque on behalf of Auckland City FC. Ten qualifications for the FIFA Club World Cup is a special achievement and I'm proud to captain our side here in Morocco," Howieson said.

Auckland City FC qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup 2022 after winning five games straight at the OFC Champions League competition last August and face Egyptian giants Al Ahly in Tangier on Wednesday.

The winner of the tie meets the Seattle Sounders in the quarter finals with a place in the last four against one of the biggest clubs in the world in Real Madrid up for grabs on February 4.
