Barça B, Auckland City FC friendly ends in draw

BARCELONA, Catalonia - Auckland City FC and Barçelona B drew 1-1 in a friendly match at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper today.
The friendly allowed Barça coach Rafa Márquez to give some minutes to players who haven't featured much recently, as well as watching new signing Lucas Román in action. U-19A player Diego Almeida was also involved, along with U-19B players Brian Fariñas, Adrian Simon Gill, and Gustavo Maia.
The match ended 1-1, with Sergi Rosanas scoring for Barça and Emiliano Tade for Auckland City FC. The result was an encouraging one for City coach Albert Riera and his team as they turn their focus towards the FIFA Club World Cup match with Al Ahly on 1 February 2023 in Tangiers. The game also marked Ryan De Vries 150th appearance for the club making him just the sixth player behind Angel Berlanga (229), Emiliano Tade (222), James Pritchett (203), Ivan Vicelich (171), Mario Bilen 168) and Chad Coombes (151) to reach the milestone.

Auckland City FC played three friendly matches in Catalonia with two narrow 1-0 defeats to Reus FC Reddis and Korean champions Jeonbuk Motors before today's training match with Barça. They depart Cambrils for Tangiers on January 27 to begin their run-in towards the FIFA Club World Cup.
Barça Atlètic are on a run of two wins in a row, having taken 10 out of the last 12 points, currently sitting fifth in the table with 32 points. Their next game is a significant one, when they welcome Real Sociedad B to the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Saturday. The Basque side are in third place and two points ahead of the Catalans.
