Player of the Match - Cam Howieson
AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Auckland City FC skipper Cam Howieson has won the OFC Player of the Match award following today's 3-0 win over Rewa FC at Ngahue Reserve today.
The City captain netted from the penalty spot on 26 minutes and led the Navy Blues to their second consecutive win in the OFC Champions League to top Group B.
The All Whites midfielder was outstanding from start to finish and was delighted with the three points.
Howieson said: "We knew it was going to be a tough game and knew Rewa FC were going to be up for it.
"We got off to a good start which was important because Rewa started the game on the front foot and we didn't have a lot of time.
"We had to show patience and try something a little different like running in behind and make life difficult for them.
"I'm happy with the three points and another clean sheet and hopefully finish top of the group.

"Games like today are a big learning curve for young players every second of the game a team like Rewa FC are going to be touch tight and make the game a battle.
"It's a great experience for our younger players and hopefully we can get more games like this to build that experience for them.
"It's good to get a player award but the truth is from the players on the bench to the ones who take the pitch, every player makes a contribution.
"It was a good team performance and I'm just happy we've won and keep going in a positive direction," Howieson said.
Auckland City FC's next match is on Thursday 11 August at 3.00pm NZDT at Ngahue Reserve.
