AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Our deepest condolences go to the family and friends of the late Fabian Ukich who sadly passed any on Monday 7th February 2022 after a long and brave battle with cancer.
Fabian was a past president of the Croatian Cultural Society of New Zealand and his son Stipe played junior football at Central United FC and is now one of Auckland City’s most promising youth team prospects.
Auckland City FC chairperson Ivan Vuksich acknowledged the contribution Fabian has made to our community.

"He had that special touch that brings people together and puts smiles on their faces.
"He provided some real glue at the Croatian Club when they faced some challenging times.
"Through his personality, passion for people and love of his culture he was responsible for introducing so many new young people to the club, especially through initiatives like the Robert Vicelich Memorial seven-a-side football tournament, which has now grown into a fantastic annual event.
"From a personal point of view, I will never forget the 2007/08 football season when Kiwitea Street was closed for a number of months due to a major playing field refurbishment.

"Auckland City FC needed to find a short-term home to play a number of National League and Oceania Champions League matches and Fabian did not hesitate in offering the Croatian Club’s ground as an alternative.
"He was fantastic to deal with and I will always be grateful for the co-operation and support he offered our club at that time.
"That was Fabian though, if someone needed some help, he would always do his best to lend you a hand.
"Our deepest condolences go to his partner Sophie, his children Stipe and Nikolina, his parents Joe and Angelka, his siblings Nevenka and Joseph and to the rest of his family.
"Fabian had a huge enthusiasm for life that was infectious, and I speak for everyone at Kiwitea Street in saying that he will be dearly missed but never forgotten.”
