AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Northern Region Football are delighted to announce three partner clubs to deliver Futsal Super League programmes in 2022. The partnership model is an exciting step for the clubs and NRF, and include all elements of league participation, team identification and training.

The clubs are:

Auckland City FC – Men’s team
Papakura City FC – Women’s team
East Coast Bays AFC – Women’s and Men’s team

"We had high quality applications for this programme, and look forward to building on our work with Auckland City and welcome Papakura City and East Coast Bays. The partnership model is all about empowering and supporting club-based talent programme delivery and we can't wait to get underway," said Marvin Eakins, NRF Futsal Community Officer.

“The club is pleased to be returning for the 2022 season and look forward to the challenge of defending our 2020 Super League title. The players have missed a lot of Futsal this year in Auckland and everyone will be buzzing to get back on the court in 2022,” said Auckland City Academy Director Nic Downes.

“We’ve been working hard to create a futsal pathway at the club and with the delivery of the youth representative teams in partnership with NRF earlier in the year, we now have opportunities for youth and senior players to represent the club at a national level."

"For us, it's clearly a very exciting opportunity to bring another type of football to our club and community, and help grow Futsal for the North Shore and Auckland. It's a fantastic fast sport and we're excited to be involved. It's an honour to play in the Super League, and have a club wearing the East Coast Bays badge on the national stage," said East Coast Bays AFC Chair Russell Fisher.

"Futsal is something we've been working towards for a while as a club, and this will really kick start us into delivering Futsal for the Shore. This is a another step in bringing different types of football and diversifying what we offer."

"We are just ecstatic - it's massive for South Auckland. We want to collaborate and work with the wider community, the opportunities it opens up are huge. There's so much enthusiasm for Futsal in the club, especially among the youngsters, so when this chance came up we took it with both hands," said Papakura City Chair Dave Johnson.

The Futsal Super League is scheduled to start in early 2022:

Auckland Series: Barfoot Thompson Stadium (Kohimarama) February 2022
Northern Series: Bay Park (Tauranga) early March 2022
National Series 1: ASB Stadium (Wellington) late March 2022
National Series 2: Pulman Arena (Takanini) April 2022
