Navy Blues get Birkenhead away in Chatham Cup
AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Auckland City FC will face Birkenhead United at Shepherd's Park in the fourth round of the Chatham Cup following today's draw at New Zealand Football.
Birkenhead United and Auckland City FC have met just once previously in Northern League action with the Navy Blues coming away with a convincing 5-0 victory over Paul Hobson's team.
Goals by Angus Kilkolly, Cam Howieson, Andrew Blake and Ilham Hameedi saw Auckland City FC home with a 5-0 romp but coach José Figueira believes that counts for nothing when the sides clash on Saturday 10 July.
"This is one of the toughest draws we could've got especially playing away at Shepherd's Park - we know we'll have to be at our best to beat Birkenhead.
"Birkenhead United have a vociferous support and passionate backing and I'm sure its going to be a big occasion with a big crowd, something we will relish," Figueira told www.aucklandcityfc.com.
The fourth round matches are scheduled for the weekend of July 10-11, 2021.
