Drake and Kilkolly return to Kiwitea Street
AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Angus Kilkolly and Reid Drake have signed for Auckland City FC ahead of the Northern League season.
Kilkolly played under Figueira at Team Wellington and Central United FC while Drake has played 64 times for the Navy Blues before his recent spell with Eastern Suburbs AFC.
"I'm delighted that we've got Angus Kilkolly to the squad after losing Maro and Kayne.
"Gus has a lot of experience and goals in the regional leagues both in Auckland and Wellington and he has a connection with Kiwitea Street having played for Central United FC in the Premier Division.
"It means that those connections and relationships are easy to re-establish because he's familiar with the players he's going to play with," Figueira said.
Kilkolly, 24, played 98 games in the ISPS Handa Premiership scoring 26 goals. The former Team Wellington frontman won the OFC Champions League with the ISPS Handa Premiership winners three years ago.
25-year-old Reid Drake is familiar to followers of Auckland City FC played 94 games at National League level scoring 13 goals. He won the OFC Champions League twice with Auckland City FC and one ISPS Handa Premiership title with Eastern Suburbs AFC.
"We've brought Reid Drake back to Auckland City FC from our close rivals Eastern Suburbs AFC. Reid knows the club well, he's played for the club a lot and fits in really nicely to the way we play and the way we work and he's eager to be wearing Navy Blue again.
"He had a couple of outstanding seasons at Eastern Suburbs in the National League and its great to add someone of his quality to the squad," he added.
Auckland City FC play Manukau United on Friday 2 April at Kiwitea Street then face Northern Rovers on Monday 5 April at McFetridge Park.
Both games kick off at 3pm NZDT.
