HAMILTON, New Zealand - The Futsal Navy Blues have been beaten by Waikato Rapids 6-2 in the Men's National Futsal SuperLeague at The Peak in Hamilton.

Both sides came into the game off the back of impressive wins over NFF Comets and Bay of Plenty Surge and something had to give as the two unbeaten sides looked to claim top spot in the Northern Series and affirm their title aspirations for 2020.

Shaun Morgan and Kyle Wiznewski gave the Rapids a 2-0 advantage in front of a vociferous home crowd but they fell silent when Yousif Al Kalisy halved the deficit just before the break.

Hamish Grey tied the game up with a timely equaliser to set the match on a knife edge but a brace from Federico Marquez and further goals by Wiznewski and Jordi Ditfort handed the home side a huge boost for the National Series in Auckland in a fortnight's time.

The Futsal Navy Blues now turn their attention towards the National Series which takes place at the Bruce Pulman Arena on November 20 to 22nd.

In the day's other match, NFF Comets and Bay of Plenty Surge shared a point in a 2-2 draw.
