AUCKLAND, New Zealand - AUCKLAND CITY FC will mark ANZAC Day in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

The Auckland City FC club chairman Ivan Vuksich is proud the club makes a twice yearly commemoration of both ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day.

"This is clearly a significant day at an unprecedented time in our planet's history but today remains an opportunity for us all to say 'thank you' to the generation who served, sacrificed and changed our world.

"Auckland City FC have marked days like today with a moment's silence at our home game closest to ANZAC and Remembrance Days, noted it in our programme and, importantly, attended ANZAC Day services in New Zealand and around the Pacific.

"We will never forget and we hope club members, staff, players, volunteers, our community partners and sponsors, the football community and our nation as a whole stop to remember those who served," he told www.aucklandcityfc.com.

The New Zealand Government and Returned Services Association are promoting a stand at dawn ceremony tomorrow morning for New Zealanders from 6am onwards.
